Dealing with Drooling

Adapted from the BabyCenter article "Teething: How to Ease Your Baby's Discomfort"

Your baby may get a red rash on his chin and lower lip from all the drooling that comes with teething.

The wetness can irritate his skin, particularly at night when he rubs his face against his crib sheet. Wipe, but don't rub, the drool off with a soft cotton cloth. You can also smooth petroleum jelly on his chin before a nap or bedtime to protect the skin from further irritation.

You may also wish to try to protect your baby's chin, lips and cheeks from dryness. JOHNSON’S® Baby SOOTHING NATURALS™ Intense Moisture Cream is clinically proven mild, allergy and dermatologist tested, it contains plant derived ingredients and a unique combination of vitamin E, olive leaf extract and skin essential minerals. You can use it to protect your baby's tender face from dryness.

With the right care, you can keep your baby's skin protected from the wetness and irritation of drooling.
